FontLand, Tokyo, announced on Feb. 19, 1996, the availability in March of 35,000 Character Unicode Font Set, including 21,000 Chinese characters (including the Japanese Kanji and Korean Hanja characters) and 14,000 non-Chinese characters (including the Korean Hanguel characters), on one CD-ROM, for 29,000 yen. An Index Manual of the C/J/K Characters or the Non-C/J/K Characters can be bought separately for 4,780 yen. (See Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, 2/20/96.)

The fonts are in the Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) files. Adobe Systems' Illustrator 4.0 for Mac OS 7.1 or for Windows 3.1 and other software can be used.

FontLand welcomes the 8th International Unicode/ISO 10646 Conference: "Asia, Software, + Internet: Going Global with Unicode" at Hotel Furama Kempinski, Hongkong, April 18-19. FontLand and Tom Amano

• Tomimoto "Tom" Amano, President of FontLand, was born in Fengtian, Manchuria (present-day Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China); was graduated from Seoul Univ. and its graduate school, Korea; worked for Japan Airlines; and taught foreign languages (Chinese and Korean) at universities in Tokyo, Japan.
• Many years of experience in developing and providing the computer fonts in China, Japan and Korea.
• FontLand Co., Ltd., was incorporated in 1985 in Tokyo.
